Health Care Technician I - Murdoch Developmental Center

They are seeking a Health Care Technician I to support individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) by assisting with daily living activities and providing recreational support. Information Technology & Services
Responsibilities
Support people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) that may have complex behavioral challenges and/or medical conditions
Take people on outings to various places in the community
Teach people recreational skills
Support people with completing Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s)
Qualification
Required
High school or General Educational Development diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to pass a physical requirements test
Must be in good standing with the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry
Preferred
A willingness to learn and carry out behavior support and coaching techniques that work for the people at Murdoch
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to help the people that live here
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with the people that live here and with coworkers
Ability to anticipate hazards and perform all duties safely
Ability to be able to communicate and document observations and recommendations effectively
