Responsibilities
Serve as a utility player, not just a traditional DBA. Responsibilities include:
Database maintenance (monitoring, backups, indexing, optimization)
Project work: purging databases, prepping for upgrades, vendor coordination
Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
Support Microsoft SQL Server environments, including replication, mirroring, and governance of connectors
Work with Power Platform and Power BI for reporting and analytics
Assist with Azure integrations, APIs, and web applications
Act as a technical lead for database governance and best practices
Mentor a junior system administrator to ensure coverage and avoid single points of failure
Qualification
Required
Ability to balance technical depth with business communication
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and familiarity with MS Power Systems
Knowledge of Power Platform tools and reporting
Strong troubleshooting skills and proactive problem-solving
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or Associate's degree with equivalent experience)
3+ years of relevant experience
Exposure to database development and system indexing
