As a Reliability Engineering Intern, Mechanical Systems, NA, you will gain hands-on experience in supporting data center operations and troubleshooting mechanical systems.

Responsibilities
Serve as the first responder for mechanical issues in the data center, assisting with immediate troubleshooting and issue identification to minimize downtime
Monitor, respond to, and escalate alerts or alarms related to mechanical and HVAC systems, working closely with senior engineers to implement solutions
Write and update emergency response procedures specific to data center operations, ensuring clear guidelines for mechanical system responses
Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for handling mechanical issues, such as temperature fluctuations, equipment failures, and maintenance tasks
Assist with diagnosing and resolving mechanical system issues, including HVAC systems, chillers, and other climate control equipment, critical to maintaining optimal operating conditions
Conduct field investigations and report findings to support troubleshooting and improve system reliability
Participate in preventive maintenance activities, helping to ensure the mechanical infrastructure remains in optimal working condition
Collaborate with facility engineers to assess and implement improvements that enhance energy efficiency and reduce the risk of mechanical failures
Document key activities, issues, and resolutions, providing accurate records of responses and maintenance activities
Prepare reports on mechanical system performance and identify opportunities to enhance system efficiency and response times
Handle additional duties as assigned by Management
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a 4-year university pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Rising Junior or Senior status
Minimum GPA requirement – 3.0
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Positive and proactive attitude
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Proficient with all aspects of modern working practice and tools, including MS Office, MS Teams
Travel required is expected to be between local sites up to 5%
