Field Operations Mechanical Technician Lead Person
NEOGOV is seeking a Field Operations Mechanical Technician Lead Person to supervise and direct the Field Operations Mechanical Technicians on maintenance tasks and projects related to the District's water and sewer pump stations systems. This role involves training less experienced operators, completing work orders, and ensuring efficient operations while adhering to safety policies.

Responsibilities
Provides clear direction and coordination for assigned projects and tasks to crew members
Performs all functions of a Field Operations Mechanical Technician II, as needed for the efficient completion of assigned duties
Oversees operational adjustments and maintenance to the drinking water and sewer pump station systems
Completes work orders and operates the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as needed
Completes purchase orders on-line, maintains records and prepares written reports as needed
Interacts with the public, investigates and resolves pump station-related complaints, representing the District in a positive manner
Responds to emergency calls for assistance when available, and accepts standby duty as needed
Adheres to and enforces stated safety policies and procedures and ensures that subordinates do the same
Qualification
Required
Requires high school graduation or equivalent, with the ability to read and follow safety procedures and job-related instructions as required
Requires three (3) years experience as a District Field Operations Mechanical Technician II
Requires demonstrated ability to direct assigned crews
Requires all of the proficiencies found in the Field Operations Mechanical Technician II job description
Requires certification from the Department of Health Services, State of California, as a Grade D3 Water Distribution Operator and Grade T2 Treatment Plant Operator by 12/31/06, or ability to obtain same within two (2) years of hire date
Requires a certificate in supervisory training within one year after hire
Requires knowledge of the methods, tools, materials and equipment used in the operation, maintenance and repair of all components of drinking water and sewage pump station systems
Requires full knowledge of all District drinking water and sewage pumping facilities and systems
Requires the ability to complete work orders and purchase orders on-line, keep records, and prepare written reports
Requires the ability to read and understand grid books, engineering drawings, and similar documents
Requires the ability to follow and give oral and written directions
Requires the ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures and job-related instructions
Requires mechanical ability as related to various job functions and equipment operation
Requires knowledge of the principles of supervision and training, and the ability to direct an assigned crew or project/task team of Field Operations Mechanical Technicians
Requires the ability to interact courteously and professionally with the public
Requires the ability to maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and managers
Requires a valid, current drivers' license, acceptable by the State of California, with a driving record which enables insurability
Requires a valid, current, Class B drivers' license, with Hazardous Materials, Tanker, and Air Brake Endorsements (or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire), acceptable by the State of California, with a driving record which enables insurability
Must have current, valid CPR and First Aid certificates or ability to obtain with 2 years of hire

Vision Insurance through Vision Service Plan. No deductible. Premiums fully paid by District for employee and eligible dependents.
Life Insurance - $70,000 death benefit. Premiums paid in full by District.
Retirement Plan - CalPERS 2% at 62 formula for PEPRA members. 2.7% at 55 for Classic Members. Employee pays 50% of the total cost of the benefit, up to a maximum of 8% of salary per month. A new hire not previously in CalPERS (or a reciprocal plan) or who has had a PERS/recriprocal agency service break of six months or more may be subject to provisions of PEPRA legislation effective January 1, 2013.
