Program Configuration and Data Manager

Gichner Systems Group, Inc. is seeking a Program Configuration and Data Manager to oversee the configuration management processes for project data and hardware. The role involves managing change control, leading configuration audits, and coordinating with Integrated Product Teams to ensure adherence to policies and procedures throughout the system lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Perform configuration, change and release management support functions for all projects
Manage CM/DM processes including, but not limited to, configuration identification, control, verification, and audit activities
Oversee change management processes, including but not limited to, change management support, change proposal assessment, change request review and logging, change scheduling and build authorization, and post-implementation reviews and closure activities
Support release management processes, including but not limited to, release planning, build, deployment, life cycle support and closure activities
Review, develop and recommend improvements to existing configuration, change and release management policies and procedures
Coordinate the review of engineering/configuration, change and release data, documentation and activities to ensure adherence to procedures and policies
Assist in the management, maintenance and automating of CM tools
Prepare configuration, release and build documentation, and maintain document library IAW with DoD, USAF, USAFCENT and local directives and policies
Maintain quality, integrity and security of CM document library and ensure configuration items are not added or modified without authorization and modifications are adequately recorded
Audit the CM document library, and assist in implementing audit recommendations
Track and prepare configuration item history and status reports, and CM metrics for each build and release, as required
Prepare, schedule and lead CM meetings
Host Configuration Control Board (CCB)
Direct the efforts of the CM/DM department staff, included but not limited to, task assignments, supervision of staff and associated personnel actions
Develop, refine, and maintain build and installation processes and procedures
Define and implement procedures for releasing new products throughout the entire lifecycle
Provide change management and product configuration management guidance
Deliver the status of configuration control and logistics documentation such as technical manuals, preventative maintenance system, operations support system, safety, and provisioning documentation
Assist and support the review of system technical data and drawings, technical manuals, and configuration baseline documentation to determine the changes required to update requirements and establish new baselines
Develop and maintain baselines and configuration control procedures
Provide continuous coordination of progress on actions, tasking, and issues being worked by the Configuration Management Team

Required

Ability to maintain sensitive and/or classified information as required by government standards
Ability to document and perform hardware and software version control processes, policies and procedures
Experience and/or familiarity with Military standards such as MIL-HDBK-61 and MIL-STD-31000
Experience and/or familiarity with industry CM standards such as EAI-649, ISO 10007, and CMMI
Experience and/or familiarity with industry drawing standards such as ASME Y14.100
Ability to define and implement hardware and software configuration management processes and procedures
Ability to develop product build scripts, procedures, and integrating scripts with the hardware and software build process
Ability to establish and maintain Program CM systems and document and software libraries
Ability to develop and improve Program CM processes
Ability to provide CM process training to program team
Ability to communicate CM status to CM Management and Program Management
Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary
Ability to adhere to workplace rules
BS Degree in Technical or Business Discipline or equivalent experience
7+ years of related experience
Gichner Shelter Systems and DoD Configuration standards and procedures
Microsoft Office Suite and Visio

Preferred

Data Management file management system, Autodesk Vault preferred
AS400 System preferred
