Responsibilities

Create visually engaging editorial
Work well remotely and with a team
Utilizing current brand design guidelines all the while incorporating creative excellence
Help ensure timely production and high-quality results as needed with design team
Stay up to date on media trends and contribute creative ideas to elevate our publications and media
Be involved in our communities, serve our communities, and identify how you/we can elevate our voice within our communities, with a particular emphasis on the West Puget Sound cities of Bremerton, Gig Harbor, Poulsbo, Port Orchard, and more
Self-manage with excellence and strong work ethic

Required

College degree in journalism or related field and 3+ years of professional experience in the field of journalism
Strong understanding of journalism and AP principles
Familiarity with digital journalism for websites, newsletters, and social media
Basic understanding of print production and file preparation
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
A collaborative, team-oriented approach with a willingness to learn
A great writing voice, tone, and appreciation for reading
Must live in or within reasonable regular commuting distance of Kitsap County region of Washington state, or willing to self-relocate
