Responsibilities

Partner with R&D to develop design specifications, draft test methods, and drive material selection
Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to engineering print packages
Apply technical expertise to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling, and automation
Contribute creative and innovative solutions to solve complex technical challenges
Propose and evaluate new technologies to support future business growth
Oversee development builds and initial production builds using Special Work Requests (SWRs)
Train and/or provide technical direction to technicians and engineers; train manufacturing personnel as required during validation activities
Assess process capabilities, prioritize improvement opportunities, and implement process improvements for platform or derivative projects
Prepare and present technical data and recommendations to project stakeholders to support informed business decisions
Write and review validation protocols and reports for new and modified processes
Execute functional deliverables associated with the Product Development Process (PDP), Technology Development Process (TDP), and Quality System
Ensure accurate and complete documentation in compliance with quality system requirements, including print packages, drawing trees, BOMs, routers, process risk documentation, SWRs, process flowcharts, characterization documentation, and validation plans (TMV, OQ/PQ, etc.)
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering to support product transfer from development to full production

Required

Must be a green card holder or US citizen
Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2–4 years of relevant experience
Strong engineering fundamentals, problem-solving skills, and conflict resolution experience
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement creative, innovative solutions for processes and products
Proven experience working cross-functionally in technically demanding environments
Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
Willingness to travel up to 10% (vendor visits, supplier visits, or conferences)

Preferred

Experience developing and characterizing extrusion processes including free extrusion, over-the-core, co-extrusion, over-braid, reel-to-reel, multi-lumen, and bump extrusion
Hands-on experience working with polymers such as Pebax, Nylon, PEEK, and urethanes
Strong understanding of how extrusion inputs impact product outputs
Experience developing equipment or fixtures from concept through prototype and production
Demonstrated use of DFSS tools, including DOE and structured problem-solving methodologies
Experience with mechanical design, automation, controls, and programming
Strong statistical knowledge and experience using statistical analysis software
Medical device or other regulated industry experience with working knowledge of quality systems
Experience serving as a technical project lead or coordinating cross-functional teams
