Project/Materials Engineer

Responsibilities
Tackle challenges related to material science, production techniques, and environmental sustainability
Optimize ready-mix concrete and asphalt, streamlining everything from raw material selection to plant performance and logistics
Analyze project documentation, ensuring material compliance and crafting clear, compelling submittals for aggregates, asphalt, and concrete
Collaborate with Quality Control and Environmental Teams to uphold the highest standards in safety, operations, and regulatory compliance
Design and manage plant improvement initiatives—your ideas will shape tomorrow’s best practices
Engage in general surveying, inventory management, and reserve analysis, ensuring our projects are built to last
Participate in inspections, ensuring every process meets or exceeds environmental, safety, and health standards
Foster a safe, inclusive work environment where professionalism and collaboration are the norm
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution; advanced degrees or additional certifications are a plus
Analytical powerhouse with a talent for innovative problem-solving
Confident communicator—both in writing and in person—who can make technical details clear and engaging
Meticulous and organized, able to juggle multiple projects and adapt to evolving priorities
Proficient with Microsoft Office and a quick study with new technology
Collaborative spirit with a professional, positive attitude
Dedication to regulatory compliance (OSHA/MSHA, Federal, and State laws), personal safety, and environmental stewardship
Reliable, punctual, and ready to roll up your sleeves, whether in the office, lab, plant, or on-site
Flexibility to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as needed to meet project demands
Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility
Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height
Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed
Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions
Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments
Must have specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, to operate equipment safely
Preferred
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam preferred
Experience or internship in construction materials, mining, or quality control is a bonus—but we value passion and drive above all
