Senior Electronics Systems Engineering Manager

Responsibilities
Lead all engineering activities with a focus on developing processes and procedures based on industry best practices and engineering disciplines supporting electrical, electro-mechanical and mechanically operated sensor systems supporting Law Enforcement and National Security Interests
Manage the Engineering Team by example, conducting performance reviews, mentorship, communicating project direction, scope, and reviewing work
Interact with customer community from senior level management to end users to identify needs, solutions, improvement opportunities, and issues
Support the development of proposals, CDRLs, studies, ECPs, and other technical submissions
Perform studies of software solutions, Artificial Intelligence (Ai) systems and techniques, radar, camera, network, communications, software, and power technologies to include failure analysis, fault isolation, technology refreshment, design changes, obsolescence, usability, repairability, function, and other solution areas as directed by management and the customer
Lead engineering team in the development of solutions, integration tasks, testing, and deployment of systems containing radars, cameras, network, communications, software, and power technologies
Design and optimize renewable, hybrid, and off-grid energy and power system designs based on industry standards and program requirements for use in austere desert and cold weather environments
Identify and incorporate opportunities for technology improvement that position solutions with competitive advantages, either as part of a project, proposal, or an Internal Research and Development (IRAD) effort
Lead the development, design, integration, testing, and commissioning of systems consistent with technical requirements, manufacturer specifications, and project data
Assist in the development of marketing materials, technical content, briefings, and project deliverables
Lead the development of proposal and RFI documents, including technical documents, solution sets, and partner strategies
Participate in internal and external document and program reviews to support customer activities, programmatic activities, and subcontractor/vendor activities
Develop and review technical content, including CAD, 3D, and 3-Line electrical drawing, design packages, drawings, models, build and production data
Other duties as assigned
Define, develop, and review Bills of Materials (BOMs) and material sources for radar, camera, network, communications, software, and power technology solutions
Review quotes and pricing for compliance with system designs
Work with internal teams and 3rd party product suppliers to articulate existing designs, repair activities, obsolescence, product improvement, new/replacement equipment
Build unique power systems based on designs that address requirements and technical specifications
Support document development and content for Scopes of Work, Scope of Supply, and internal ETO (engineer to order after PO receipt)
Support Production Manufacturing for engineering, production sequencing, production challenges, changes, and resolutions
Create and implement system commissioning packages per project requirements
Validate designs for installations
Perform on-site commissioning with the customer (as required)
Support the development and review of training guides and manuals for operations and maintenance of systems and designs
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for renewable and hybrid energy power solution projects
Act as a direct point of contact to customers for technical issues
Participate as a vital crew member and contribute towards the success of the projects and the organization
Promote a team approach and maintain communications with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas
Collaborate with other company personnel to meet organizational deadlines and objectives
Mentoring and development team members to assume and lead program activities
Complete daily reports, timecards, and reports
Develop and report on forecasts, proposals, business snapshots, and financial performance
Perform timecard updates daily and sign timecards weekly to support reporting and payroll activities
Perform job-related reporting requirements per contract and corporate policies and practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or systems engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Minimum fifteen (15+) years of design experience in radar, cameras, network, communications, software, systems, and power technology solutions supporting US Government customers and national security interests
Minimum Ten (10) years management experience
Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams, project management, designing, building, integrating, and deploying radar, camera, network, communications, software, and power solutions
Must have, or be eligible for a U.S. Government Security Clearance (DoD Secret; or DHS Suitability)
Understanding of advanced electrical system designs
Understanding of System of Systems and software system architecture
Failure isolation and root cause analysis in large integrated systems that are fielded in multifaceted deployments
Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies
Familiarity with fundamental tools in major systems developments
Ability to use design software to create, update, and review design drawings IAW specifications
Ability to use project software to develop project schedules, task durations, resources, and production rates
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of quality control systems, testing methodologies at all levels, and appropriate documentation of systems, testing, quality, and results
Strong written and oral communication skills with experience working with senior leadership in defense and federal agencies
Must be able to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment, post-offer background check and drug screening
