Human Resources Manager

Dexter is the premier manufacturer and supplier of axles and related products, and they are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to support their US-based distribution facilities. This role involves managing daily HR operations while contributing strategically to key initiatives across the business, fostering a positive and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

Act as an HR advisor, building strong relationships and providing coaching, guidance, and support to leaders and employees across the district
Maintain a strong understanding of business operations and the role of HR in supporting business goals
Use data and insights to inform HR initiatives and influence decision-making
Manage day-to-day HR matters, including employee relations, workplace investigations, leave of absence administration, and HR compliance
Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures, with an emphasis on reducing risk and ensuring legal compliance
Support corporate initiatives such as benefits open enrollment, employee engagement surveys, and retention efforts
Lead and support onboarding, orientation, and hourly recruiting efforts in coordination with local hiring needs
Develop and deliver programs to enhance employee engagement and retention
Promote a transparent, inclusive, and positive workplace culture by being visible and approachable to employees
Travel to support regional locations as needed (up to 30%)

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; equivalent experience (10+ years) will be considered in lieu of a degree
Minimum of 5+ years in an HR Manager position within a distribution center or multi-site/regional operations-focused manufacturing industry
Strong working knowledge of HR laws and practices, including multi-state labor and employment laws
Experience managing HR compliance and employee relations issues effectively and with discretion
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% to support regional operations. Must be located near a regional airport to accommodate travel

Preferred

Multisite / Regional HR experience is very highly desired
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act as a change agent
