Responsibilities

Clearly communicates appetite, underwriting standards, declination reasons and coverage advantages to Agents and internal partners to ensure profitability and generate a flow of quality new business submissions and retention
Build strong agency relationships with our Independent Agents
Spearhead the development of effective relationships with our field partners and state management team to ensure we write profitable new business
Partner with agents to creatively solution for underwriting challenged books of business
Plan agency visits with the PL field leadership to work side by side with our independent agents

Required

2+ years of Underwriting experience
Bachelor's degree or work experience equivalent
Able to articulate and practice principles of risk management with specific limits of authority
Demonstrate experience using independent judgement to analyze risks, accept, deny or recommend modifications
Be able to multi task in a high paced work environment including but not limited to phone calls, emails, new business and renewal reviews
Ability to adapt to technology; such as video conferencing, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
Ability to sit, stand throughout the work day
Ability to travel as needed
