The Systems Engineer Intern will assist a Systems Engineering team with requirements development, design, implementation, and test activities while integrating Artificial Intelligence into engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

Assist with requirements development, design, implementation, and test activities for mission-critical systems

Collaborate with mentors and Systems Engineers to identify AI opportunities in engineering workflows

Support integration of AI tools into systems engineering processes

Assist in creating documentation, workflows, and integration plans for AI adoption

Participate in brainstorming sessions to turn innovative AI ideas into reality

Support system design, integration, and testing activities as needed

Required

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field

Experience with Artificial Intelligence concepts and tools (e.g., machine learning frameworks, AI APIs)

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences

Three years of continuous residency in the US for issuance of a Government Security credential

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hiring to obtain a badge for government facility access and user account

Preferred

Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles

Programming experience (Python or similar)

Interest in Earth science or space systems

Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
