Responsibilities

Oversee full-cycle accounting for real estate development projects, including pre-development, construction, and lease-up
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for development entities and project-level reporting
Track and analyze construction costs, budgets, draws, capital calls, and funding sources
Prepare lender draw packages, work with third-party inspectors, and coordinate with lenders and equity partners
Ensure accurate capitalization of costs in accordance with GAAP
Partner closely with development and asset management teams on budget vs. actual analysis and forecasting
Manage and review work prepared by staff accountants and third-party accounting providers, as applicable
Assist with audits, tax compliance, and coordination with external CPAs
Help build, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as the platform scales
Support ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting for senior leadership and investors

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
10+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on real estate development
Hands-on experience with construction accounting, cost tracking, and lender draws
Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate capitalization rules
Experience working in an investment, development, or owner-operator environment
Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-moving environment
Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally
