Senior Mission Manager, Amazon Leo

Amazon Kuiper Infrastructure LLC is focused on delivering fast, reliable internet through its low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, Amazon Leo. They are seeking a Technical Program Manager to manage launch campaigns and interface with engineering and program management teams for complex satellite launches.

Responsibilities

Plan efficient launch campaigns
Manage a complex schedule developed with internal and external stakeholders
Have technical proficiency with satellite integration
Drive engineering project throughout launch campaigns, make technical trade-offs, track and report on status, and resolve blocking issues
Oversee project plans for launch vehicle and dispenser system providers
Lead launch integration activities at the payload processing facility / launch site
Collaborate with payload processing facility stakeholders and drive requirements to closure
Collaborate with internal stakeholders responsible for delivering satellites to the launch site and satellite handling during integration activities
Collaborate with procurement, legal/regulatory and export control for contracts management, import/export, and related regulatory compliance
Travel to launch sites (Florida, California, French Guiana) and Engineering sites (Greater Seattle area, WA) required
Fully competent in a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project life-cycle and exhibit demonstrated proficiency in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking

Required

7+ years of technical product or program management experience
7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
3+ years of software development experience
5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred

5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
