Responsibilities

The Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives and Integration (ADSII), will support training of timely referral development and relationship management efforts, case findings, provides feedback and recommendations for the Physician Liaisons and Clinical Navigators. Cultivates and maintain referral and payer relationships, quality improvement initiatives related to customer service, manages assigned territory, and makes sales contacts as well as analysis of referral and admission data from assigned territory
Conducts exit interviews with patients prior to discharge from PAM Health or confers with hospital management after interviews to ensure feedback is obtained
Gathers information on health care providers in the PAM Health service area and forwards to management, including opportunities for contracting with managed care companies and providers
Support admission process and assisting the admission team as needed through referral process
Follows-up on all medical denials in person to re-evaluate potential for admission
Conducts follow up visits with referral facilities to ensure satisfaction and service levels are met
Orients patient and/or family to facility services, including length of stay; educates, supports and serves as a resource to family members of current, past and potential patients
Drafts and post social media and press releases, develops success stories, coordinates media events, and advertising through the DSI
Implementing system and market-specific initiatives to support and achieve organizational goals
Coordinates and schedules professional, family and/or potential patient tours of all facilities
Assist in monitoring daily, weekly, monthly and year-to-date trends (referral patterns from physicians, facilities and acute care discharge planners); staying abreast of market competition and adjusting case-finding strategies to maximize staff resources and facilitate patient admissions; providing monthly updates and communicates regularly with management to ensure strategies align with system goals
Assist in conducting needs assessment surveys as directed with key stakeholders (community, patients, families, physicians, and referral sources) to identify service needs and opportunities for program development; document feedback on Upshot
Provide support to the DSSI to assist in developing and coordinating initial and ongoing sales training for Clinical Navigators and Physician Liaisons to effectively transfer learning objectives and ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction with referral sources
Conducting with the assistance of the DSII bi-weekly marketing meetings with Clinical Navigators and Physician Liaisons to ascertain market trends and evaluate key initiatives
Assist in providing options to referral sources for all denials; assure all processes are followed according to plan and reports are filed in a timely manner
Providing regular and timely information about the hospitals' services to referral sources and the community through in-person visits, presentations, tours, conferences and health screenings
Assist in coordinating Clinical Navigators' requests for in-service presentations to key referral or community groups and involving facility staff in making presentations in their areas of expertise under the guidance of the DSII
Under the direction of the DSII assist and support that staff responds to inquiries made directly to the facility in a courteous and timely manner and facilitating follow-up by the appropriate Clinical Navigator
Assist in coordinating facility-based in-services and events for referral source and community groups within time frames outlined in the marketing plan in a professional and courteous manner
Effectively and efficiently maintains contact management database and
Promotes the Mission and Vision of PAM Health within the work environment and community
Respects dignity and confidentiality by adherence to all applicable policies and procedures
Participates in OSHA required training
Follows universal precautions as appropriate for position; complies with Employee Health requirements for continued employment
Reports unsafe practices to management
Knows own role in case of an emergency

Required

Possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in a health field, preferably nursing; current licensure in nursing or therapy is preferred; prior marketing and inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred; equivalent experience and clinical training may be substituted
Effective management and training skills related to marketing, sales and territory management
Excellent clinical and assessment skills
Effective presentation and training skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Effective crisis management skills, with demonstrated facilitation and problem solving experience
Effective team leadership skills
Knowledge of PPS payment/reimbursement systems
Knowledge of patient rights and commitment to patient advocacy
Ability to collect, documents, and analyze data
Word processing and data entry skills
Network access to community, state, and national resources and health services organizations
Excellent relationship management skills with referral sources and physicians

Preferred

Current licensure in nursing or therapy
Prior marketing and inpatient rehabilitation experience
Previous management experience
Minimum of seven years of experience in healthcare marketing
Minimum of five years progressive experience with a proven record
