CSM Companies, Inc. in Madison is looking for a talented individual to take on the role of Accounting Assistant! This opportunity is ideal for someone who has experience in an Accounting related field, has some common knowledge of accounting concepts, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Process various accounting related transactions

Perform project-based work with Controller to improve processing of transactions, including analysis of account information and reconciliation of data with the business system

Perform other accounting related tasks as assign by the Controller

Record cash receipts for accounts receivable and enter invoices for accounts payable

Deposit payments received in company bank account

Perform bank reconciliations for checking accounts

Assist with other accounting functions such as taxes and monthly financial reports

File and maintain clerical records and reports

Required

Associate's degree in Accounting or related field required

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and knowledge of common accounting concepts in academic setting

Understanding of relevant computer programs and proficient in data entry and management

Attention to fine detail and accuracy

Discretion and sound judgment

Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities

Preferred

Pursuit of Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred with completion of intermediate accounting coursework

Preferred general accounting exposure and experience but not required

Preferred software experience: Excel
