Business Analyst – K–12 Education & Power BI

Responsibilities

Partner with K–12 stakeholders (e.g., district leadership, finance, operations, IT, instructional teams) to understand business needs and priorities
Elicit, document, and validate business, functional, and data requirements
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support decision-making across K–12 functions (e.g., finance, enrollment, staffing, academic performance, operations)
Analyze and transform data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability
Translate complex data and technical concepts into clear, stakeholder-friendly insights and recommendations
Support data governance, reporting standards, and best practices within a K–12 environment
Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and project managers to ensure solutions meet requirements and timelines
Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations with both technical and non-technical audiences

Required

Bachelor's degree in business, Information Systems, Education, Data Analytics, or a related field
Hands-on experience developing reports and dashboards using Power BI
Experience working within a K–12 school district or with clients that specialize in K–12 education
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
Strong understanding of data analysis, reporting, and visualization best practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Proven ability to work directly with clients or business stakeholders
Ability to pass a criminal background check
Authorized to work in the US for any employer
Local in the Chicagoland area
