Deductions and Sales Analyst

Responsibilities

Identify, investigate, and resolve customer deductions, short payments, and account discrepancies accurately and in a timely manner
Validate deductions by analyzing pricing, promotional terms, delivery and order dates, proof of delivery (PODs), and supporting documentation
Process deductions efficiently while identifying opportunities to reduce recurrence and improve processes
Review low-dollar deductions to identify trends, root causes, and mitigation strategies
Assist in validating and eliminating non-compliance deductions
Partner with Sales to monitor customer adherence to pricing, promotional terms, and other conditions of sale
Collaborate with Sales and Brokers to ensure promotional discounts, pricing, and invoicing accuracy
Work strategically with Sales to resolve promotional-related deductions and recurring pricing issues
Influence Sales to address both valid and invalid deductions, including upstream process improvements
Maintain and validate data inputs in Casper’s Trade Promotion Management (TPM) system (Modus)
Engage with Sales, Finance, Customer Operations, and Supply Chain to resolve complex customer account challenges
Document and manage customer-specific information, including portal access, payment timing, terms of sale policies, and dispute resolution processes
Support month-end accrual processes related to trade promotions and deductions
Understand P&L impacts of trade promotion discounts, pricing conditions, and deductions
Create, maintain, and analyze daily and monthly deduction and sales reports
Develop and leverage system tools and reports to support deduction management and decision-making
Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data, identify trends, and support recommendations
Learn, manage, and support Trade Promotion and deduction management systems
Train others on deduction systems, processes, and best practices as needed
Develop and maintain best practices for customer account and deduction management
Identify root causes of recurring deductions and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate them
Lead projects and support new or improved process implementation
Influence leadership and stakeholders to adopt upstream process improvements that reduce deductions and improve efficiency
Independently manage priorities, make sound business decisions, and escalate issues appropriately
Successfully manage KPIs and consistently meet performance targets

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Previous experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of Outlook and Word
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
Self-motivated team player with demonstrated leadership capability
Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Experience with deduction prevention and resolution in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry
Familiarity with Trade Promotion Management (TPM) systems (Modus preferred)
Experience partnering closely with Sales and Brokers
Understanding of pricing, promotions, and trade spend management
