LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving lives through cord blood donation. The Cord Blood Donation Recruitment Specialist will educate and recruit donor moms, train hospital staff in collection procedures, and ensure compliance and proper storage of cord blood units.

Responsibilities

Raise awareness about the LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank program through public education and recruitment of donor moms

Collaborate with hospital staff, OB/GYNs, and nurses to train them in cord blood collection procedures

Review and ensure all paperwork related to the collection process is complete and accurate

Ensure collected cord blood units and supplies are stored and shipped properly

Develop and maintain positive relationships with hospital staff and the community

Required

High school diploma or GED required

Valid drivers license

Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth drivers eligibility requirements

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interact with medical professionals at every level

Positive bedside manner and emotional intelligence with excellent customer service skills

Preferred

Associate degree preferred

Preferred experience in cellular therapy, cord blood processing/research, medical laboratory, labor and delivery, hospitals, obstetrical offices, and/or health/patient education

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
