Manufacturing Project Engineer (Level II / III)

They are seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer to support and lead manufacturing execution and project coordination in a fast-paced environment, ensuring efficient production planning and cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities
Serve as a manufacturing-focused internal point of coordination across Sales, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Purchasing, Scheduling, Service, and the production floor
Plan and execute production routing, work order creation, and manufacturing strategies for fabricated components and assemblies
Coordinate material planning and outsourcing activities, providing technical guidance and responding to vendor questions
Ensure manufacturing scope, cost, and schedule considerations are clearly communicated and managed throughout the project lifecycle
Proactively identify and resolve manufacturing, engineering, and scheduling issues through cross-functional collaboration
Support or lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and standardized manufacturing practices
Provide practical DFM input to Mechanical Engineering by communicating production capabilities, constraints, and build considerations
Support manufacturability decisions without assuming design engineering ownership
Lead complex, high-risk, or high-visibility manufacturing efforts
Mentor and support less-experienced Manufacturing Project Engineers
Influence manufacturing standards, workflows, and execution strategies across the organization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent combination of education and manufacturing experience
Experience in manufacturing execution, production planning, or manufacturing project engineering
Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and production documentation
Proven communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple departments
Hands-on experience troubleshooting manufacturing or production-related issues
Level II: Typically 3–6 years of progressive manufacturing or project engineering experience
Level III: Typically 7+ years of experience, including leadership of complex manufacturing efforts and mentoring others
Familiarity with fabrication processes such as welding, machining, and metal fabrication
Experience with ERP systems, work orders, routings, and manufacturing documentation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CAD/model viewing experience preferred
