Senior Benefits & Retirement Specialist
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Senior Benefits & Retirement Specialist to support the department by coordinating and administering the University’s benefits and retirement programs. This role involves providing employee guidance, ensuring compliance and data integrity, and serving as a liaison with state agencies, vendors, and internal partners.

Responsibilities
Provide support in the planning, design, and implementation of benefits policies and procedures for assigned workgroups
Plans, coordinates, and facilitates all aspects of the Benefits Fair
Prepare and set up trainings/meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and retirement options. Ensure distribution of required employee notices
Complete benefits and retirement state reporting and ensure that the process is documented in desk manual
Develop and track error reports for internal audits to maintain data integrity
Track and notify the university community of any changes to retirement/benefits options and provide updates on the state’s statutory amendments
Oversee the collection, processing, workflow, and overall quality of benefits data
Coordinate benefits policies and procedures with the state Division of Management
Resolve complaints and concerns from vendors, customers, and other stakeholders
Oversees and troubleshoot the Workday integration with Dept. of Management Services & Division of Retirement as well as other vendors
Provides one-on-one benefits and retirement counseling to all FAU employees as well as completing retirement forms
Conduct benefits & retirement orientation for new hires and train new team members on this process
Provides retirement consultation and guidance for all members of the university community on plans including but not limited to FRS, ORP, 403(b), 457 - Deferred Compensation, special executive programs, and State Insurance options and DROP
Engage with the Investment Provider Representative for contract review and retirement enrollment and distribution
Serves as a liaison between employees and external retirement partners
Serves as the liaison between the university and the Division of Retirement to proactively resolve complex issues
Meets with employees and HR Partners regularly to educate them on retirement options and plan details
Works with the Manager and other members of the team to troubleshoot issues encountered by the Benefits & Retirement team, employees, and vendors
Collaborates with the Manager, Payroll, and the Office of Information Technology to implement updates and adjustments to plans and integration files
Creates content and collaborates with multiple benefits and retirement partners to facilitate seminars, webinars, and lunch & learn sessions
Independently researches and stays up-to-date on the latest local, state, and federal laws and progressive trends
Reviews retirement invoices and Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) files
Assists with training of Benefits & Retirement members as required
Coordinates the transition from manual Benefits & Retirement files to electronic files in Workday
Completes special Retirement-based projects as necessary
Consults with Workday Operations on relevant reports and dashboards to maintain data integrity. Provides additional assistance to the Benefits and Retirement team as needed
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Master's or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization required
Preferred
Two years of relevant experience
