Oxford Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a Piping Designer to support industrial piping design projects. This role involves developing 3D piping layouts and detailed drawings for industrial facilities while collaborating with engineers and other design professionals.

Responsibilities

Develop piping layouts, models, and fabrication drawings using 3D design tools such as SmartPlant, AutoPlant, and CadWorx

Support piping design activities for industrial projects including steel, chemical, petrochemical, power, or similar facilities

Collaborate with engineers and other designers to develop efficient, constructible piping solutions

Review design requirements, specifications, and project standards to ensure compliance

Participate in design reviews and occasional site visits to verify constructability and resolve field issues

Communicate design changes and technical information across multidisciplinary teams

For more experienced designers, may provide technical guidance, review work produced by others, and support overall project execution

Required

Hands-on experience in piping design within an industrial environment; Open to junior through senior-level backgrounds

Proficiency with 3D piping design software such as SmartPlant, AutoPlant, and/or CadWorx

Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.), with depth increasing based on experience level

Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and design documentation

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy

Effective communication skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams

Willingness to learn, grow, and be mentored, or for senior candidates, to mentor others and contribute technical leadership

Preferred

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered
