They are seeking a Senior Contract Engineer (Mobile + Backend) to contribute to the development of their mobile app and backend, working closely with the founder and lead engineer to deliver production-ready features.

Responsibilities

Chat UI (message list, virtualization, input, send state, retries)
Typing indicators, read states, metadata
Clean backend wiring for all chat flows
Offline/flaky network handling
(Nice-to-have) Voice agent mic integration
Profile creation, editing, preferences
Implementing screens from Figma with existing behaviors
Notifications, privacy, account controls
Wiring UI to backend with error handling
FastAPI endpoint development for chat + conversation history
Validation, pagination, error handling
DB/vector DB context retrieval
Logging with request IDs + privacy-safe patterns
Latency/error metrics and basic dashboards
Improve GitHub Actions/AWS pipelines
Dev/prod build flows for mobile
Backend image builds + ECR pushes
Tests for backend and minimal mobile test coverage
Docs for new endpoints, workflows, and infra changes

Qualification

Required

A senior-level engineer (2+ years typically) who has shipped at least one React Native app (Expo or bare) to App Store / Play Store
Built complex, stateful screens (chat, content feeds, etc.)
Built and maintained Python APIs (ideally FastAPI)
Solid experience with relational or NoSQL databases (MySQL/MongoDB preferred)
Hands-on AWS experience (ECS/Lambda/API Gateway/ALB, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager)
Comfortable with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, AWS pipelines)
Docker + containerized workflows
Writes tests and uses them
Strong logging, monitoring, and debugging habits
Communicates clearly and collaborates productively

Preferred

AI/LLM or chatbot experience
Vector DB familiarity (Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate)
Experience on dating/social/messaging apps
Observability stacks (Sentry, Datadog, CloudWatch)
Basic infra-as-code familiarity (CDK/Terraform/CloudFormation) is a bonus
