Computer Information Systems_Residential Faculty

Responsibilities
Supervises and instructs students, including students in high school bridge programs, in a classroom and/or lab setting, online or hybrid, accelerated, and other alternative schedules and formats: uses learning centered strategies to engage students and promote student success; demonstrates innovation in teaching and learning and the scholarship of learning by focusing on student learning, retention, and achievement; incorporates instructional technology and alternative delivery or scheduling techniques
Develops instructional materials and curriculum; develops written syllabi/course outlines and course materials: assesses and evaluates knowledge of subject matter taught and monitors students’ scholastic records; prepares and grades examinations and other teaming activities; hires, supervises and evaluates adjunct faculty; participates in division and college assessment and program review processes: uses assessment and evaluation results to improve instruction and student learning
Maintains office hours to assist, tutor, and advise students to promote learning, citizenship and personal development; works with students outside or the classroom on instructional activities and projects such as clubs, undergraduate student research, STEAM programs and activities, and internships with business/industry; develops and cultivates relationships with high school and university institutions to develop and promote transfer pathways for students
Remains current with new trends and developments in the field through attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, workshops; develops and enhances knowledge of pedagogy related to the business discipline as well as pedagogy of adult learners and underprepared students; participates in college and district activities including department and division meetings, committees, workshops and projects: contributes to the academic life and mission of the college: demonstrates intercultural competence in interactions with students, staff, and the community; maintains a team approach in collaborating with faculty, staff, and students

Qualification
Required
Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught
Three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a Bachelor's degree or higher
A Master's degree or higher in the teaching field
A Master's degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field
A Master's degree or higher in any field with a combination of 24 upper division and/or graduate credits in the teaching field
Preferred
Master's Degree or higher in computer information system or related cybersecurity discipline
Experience teaching at the post-secondary level with community college preferred
Experience using student engagement or collaborative/active learning strategies
Experience developing and teaching online or hybrid format computer courses at post-secondary level
Experience teaching computer courses such as networking, programming, cybersecurity
Evidence of networking, cybersecurity or programming work experience
Demonstrated evidence working with faculty, staff, and/or students from a wide variety of backgrounds
