Insurance Planning Associate

Responsibilities

Insurance Policy Review & Analysis – Review existing life insurance, annuity, and related policies that clients bring to the firm. Assess policy structure, costs, performance, and suitability relative to the client’s financial plan
Coverage Assessment – Help determine whether clients have an appropriate level and type of life insurance or annuity exposure based on goals such as income replacement, legacy planning, retirement income, or risk management
Planning & Illustration Support– Coordinate with clients and insurance carriers to obtain in-force illustrations, request policy updates or modifications, and gather detailed policy data needed for analysis. Prepare clear summaries and comparison to support planning decisions
Insurance Strategy Development – Under mentorship, learn and support insurance planning strategies used in wealth management, including permanent versus term insurance analysis, annuity income planning, and long-term care solutions
Advisor Collaboration – Assist financial advisors who are not insurance or annuity specialists by serving as a technical resource, helping them understand and deliver effective insurance and annuity planning recommendations to clients
Client Interaction – Shadow and work toward meeting with clients directly to explain insurance concepts, review policy findings, and answer client questions
Ongoing Education – Stay informed on insurance products, carrier updates, regulatory changes, and evolving best practices in insurance and annuity planning

Required

1-3 years of experience working with insurance and or annuity products in a sales, service, support, or planning capacity
Interest in building a long-term career in financial planning and insurance planning
Aspiring to pursue the CFP ® designation is a plus
Ideal candidate will be intrigued by financial planning and wealth management, and willing to study and learn in this area (company paid)
Demonstrated desire to deepen technical knowledge, grow professionally, and evolve into a trusted insurance planning resource
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new concepts, processes, and client scenarios
Comfortable learning and working within new software platforms, planning tools, and carrier system
Working knowledge of insurance and annuity products, with enthusiasm for staying current on carrier updates, product changes, and emerging planning solutions
