Responsibilities

Performs complex tasks involving interpretation and application of policies and practices
Interprets office procedures, rules, and regulations
May function as a lead worker for clerical positions
Provides clerical support to the director or upper management staff
Trains new employees in proper work methods and procedures
Plans, organizes, and checks the work of lower-level clerical employees
Receives and analyzes interstate compact transfer documents for accuracy and initiates the corrections of errors
Assists supervisor in processing ICOTS reports daily
Assigns transfer documents to parole officers for investigation and timely completion
Operates the NCIC terminal to enter, modify, and cancel wanted persons and conduct criminal background checks for parolees and prospective employees
Prepares and distributes parole papers and discharges for out-of-state parolees
Operates a personal computer, copy machines, facsimile machines, scanners, etc
Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages and complaints
Provides callers with information regarding services and procedures
Maintains, sorts and files documents
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent
Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience performing routine office work

Preferred

College hours, related business school, or vocational training may be substituted through an established formula for the required experience

Benefits

$5000 will be added to the minimum starting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay Supplemental Facility.
Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differential each fiscal year of $250 after completing one year of service.
If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves the facility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary, unless transferring to another CVPF.
