Responsibilities

Be the SME (subject matter expert) in the room who clients trust and rely on for all things web and UX/usability
Collaborate with designers, writers, researchers, project team members, and stakeholders to create and maintain high-quality websites
Develop and maintain robust code using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP
Design websites and website features using best practices and insights from user research
Create and edit website content in visual page editors in WordPress and Drupal
Ensure all delivered products comply with section 508 and WCAG 2.1 A and AA for accessibility
Optimize website performance for load speed, scalability, and usability
Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure robustness and reliability

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
Portfolio website required
4+ years of demonstrated experience building accessible, user-friendly websites, preferably for the public sector
Expert-demonstrated knowledge and experience writing modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Expert-demonstrated knowledge and experience practicing UX and applying user-centered design in your work
Experience developing secure PHP in WordPress and Drupal within the past 2 years
Strong applicable knowledge of web accessibility standards (Section 508, WCAG)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to connect and align small details with an overarching vision
Ability to gather user and technical requirements for a web project
Experience, comfort, and confidence in pitching new ideas to clients
Active Public Trust security clearance preferred; ability to obtain one required
Legal authorization to work in the U.S

Preferred

Experience supporting large federal agencies
Experience using Google Analytics to track and analyze user behavior, optimize website performance, and generate reports
Experience implementing SEO (Search Engine Optimization) strategies
Experience using design tools like Figma
Experience with version control systems like Git
Experience working with data and developing data visualizations
Experience building LOE (level of effort) quotes/estimates and responding to proposal requirements from potential customers
