POLICY ANALYST
The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) is dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and communities for a better quality of life. They are seeking a motivated Policy Analyst to draft and update administrative policies and procedures, monitor legislative changes, and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure compliance and relevance of policies.

Responsibilities
Research, develop, draft, and update administrative policies and procedures with SMEs, Policy and Planning staff, and DES Executive Management
Communicate with various entities to gather information, track development of policies and procedures, compile information received from sources, ensure policies and procedures comply with internal policy and procedure format, State and Federal laws, and meet expectations of executive management
Monitor and/or research any new State and Federal legislation or amendments to existing legislation with potential impact on administrative policies or procedures
Assist with written analysis of new State or Federal legislation, or the impact of revisions on existing legislation
Report changes and provide status updates on administrative policies and procedures to executive management through a variety of channels and formats, such as email exchanges, in-person presentations, position papers, comparative analysis, and spreadsheets
Function as DES Central Policy Library Coordinator for DES administrative policies and procedures housed within the internal agency Policy Hub
Ensure administrative policies and procedures are published, kept current, and maintained in an organized manner
Qualification
Required

Database updating and structuring
Principles and practices of research, planning, and analysis
Concepts of policy development and design
Development of policy to meet diverse needs of internal and external stakeholders
Coordinating and structuring complex concepts into understandable, cohesive, and effective formats
Accept, organize, and prioritize direction from various points of contact
Review and provide guidance on policy and procedure development
Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member
Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions

Preferred
Three years of experience researching, analyzing, coordinating, and writing policy documents for an organization
