Responsibilities
Manage commercial breach and contract disputes from initial client intake through discovery and motion practice in New York state and federal courts
Draft and argue summary judgment motions, incorporating expert affidavits on damages and causation to secure early dismissals or favorable rulings
Conduct depositions of key witnesses and adverse parties, extracting admissions that strengthen settlement positions or trial narratives
Prepare appellate briefs challenging adverse decisions on jurisdictional or substantive grounds in the Second Circuit
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams on securities or fiduciary overlaps, analyzing regulatory filings to bolster defense strategies
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the New York State Bar
2+ years of experience in civil litigation
Strong understanding of commercial breach and contract disputes
Experience drafting and arguing summary judgment motions
Ability to conduct depositions and prepare appellate briefs
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
