1st Shift Sub - Assembler

Responsibilities
Performing sub-assembly based on drawings and supervisor instructions
Following supervisors’ instructions of work to be performed
Inspecting, operating, and testing completed assemblies and finished product to verify function, quality, and conformance to specifications
Cleaning and lubricating parts and assemblies
Maintaining personal tool inventory
Maintaining a clean and orderly work area based on quality goals
Using a computer to record assembly status
Following safety instructions and rules
Working overtime and assigned shifts as needed
Employees are responsible for complying with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures
Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction
Qualification
Required
Must be able to read exact measurements on a tape measure without assistance!
Must be able to read blueprints and schematics!
High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum of 1 year of machine assembly experience
Ability to read and understand complex assembly drawings and blueprints
Basic computer knowledge
Basic mathematical knowledge, including decimal and fractional equations
Knowledge of standard and decimal measurements, hand tools, and power tools
Knowledge of quality assurance and self-inspection techniques
Good verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and detail-oriented
Team orientation
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Medium work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees
Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position
Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling
Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm
Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction
Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Visual Acuity: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines
