Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation of financial and tax reports
Collaborate with the Director of Budgeting and Internal Reporting to develop an online fiscal policy handbook
Supervise staffing in the Business Office, ensuring timely recording of all financial transactions in accordance with GAAP
Provide accurate and timely reports on campus financial conditions
Maintain and administer the university's financial accounting systems
Supervise the monthly closing of the general ledger and coordinate year-end financial closing and audit activities
Perform special and ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Vice President
Demonstrate a commitment to serving and inspiring students and colleagues in a Christian university context
Communicate clearly, collaborate productively, and complete tasks timely with comprehensive, complete, and accurate work
Other job duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Certified Public Accountant
Minimum of five years managerial/supervisory experience in an accounting department within an educational institution
Preferred
Master's degree or MBA
Understanding of fund accounting
Experience with Ellucian Colleague
