MBO Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Private Fund Accounting Consultant to support a client's private fund accounting operations within an asset management environment. This senior, hands-on contract role requires deep experience with private equity funds and strong technical judgment.

Responsibilities

Own and support private fund accounting activities for PPP Europe and related funds, including capital calls, distributions, and waterfall calculations

Provide continuity and leadership during a senior team transition

Prepare, review, and validate fund-level financial reporting and related schedules

Oversee and challenge deliverables produced by third-party fund administrators

Support period-end and quarter-end close processes across complex fund structures

Partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of reporting

Required

10+ years of progressive private fund accounting experience, with a strong focus on private equity funds

Demonstrated, hands-on experience with capital calls and waterfall distributions

Experience supporting private equity funds at a GP, asset manager, or fund administrator

Strong understanding of private equity fund operations and financial reporting

Experience supporting complex or international fund structures

Must be able to work onsite 4 days/week in NYC or Summit, NJ

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required

Experience must be with private equity funds; backgrounds limited to smaller private funds, registered investment companies, or 1940 Act funds are not a fit for this role

This role is intended for senior-level consultants; candidates with fewer than 10 years of relevant private equity fund accounting experience are unlikely to be successful
