BOARD TREASURER
Maryland Nonprofits is seeking a Board Treasurer for Heyoka Fire Corp, a sanctuary housing organization dedicated to restorative care for veterans and underserved communities. The Treasurer will lead financial governance and strategy, ensuring the organization's sustainability and compliance.

Responsibilities
Lead the drafting of the Investment Policy Statement (IPS) in compliance with UPMIFA (Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act)
Review monthly financial reports and present quarterly 'Financial Health' snapshots to the Board
Oversee the selection of an auditor and ensure the timely filing of IRS Form 990
Serve as the financial conscience of the Board, ensuring that operational dreams never outpace financial reality
Qualification
Required
Professional Background: CPA, CFO, Investment Banker, or Wealth Management professional
Governance Experience: Prior experience serving on a nonprofit board or finance committee is highly preferred
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Restricted Fund Accounting and Endowment Management
