Mid-Level Water Resources Engineer

Responsibilities

Supporting projects involving municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) compliance, watershed planning, stormwater best management practice design, sediment assessment and remediation, and environmental permitting
Performing hydrologic and hydraulic calculations
Designing stormwater best management practices
Preparing technical reports
Preparing local, state, and federal permit submittals pertaining to surface water and land use regulations
Preparing proposals for new assignments
Providing litigation support services, including related to Clean Water Act compliance
Task and project-level responsibility for scoping, performing, managing and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments
Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; and
Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering with emphasis on water resources, or a closely related field of study
At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of research or related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed
Excellent writing and communication skills
Regular field work and overnight travel
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel

Preferred

Advanced degree in the same
Professional registration (i.e., P.E.)
Experience with modeling and design software tools such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS
