The Lab Assistant (Data Entry Representative I - SP) is primarily responsible for data entry related to patients and clients within the Specimen Processing Department, emphasizing productivity and quality standards.

Responsibilities
Determining and verifying client account numbers, patient demographics and order codes into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
Accurately perform all functions and in a timely manner
Requires accurate data entry of all required information on requisitions
Maintains compliance and HIPAA regulations at all times
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to meet quality and production standards
Must be detail-oriented with independent work habits
Demonstrates an ability to learn the job duties assigned to the DET I, and develops an understanding of how all the functions in Specimen Processing fit together
Demonstrates an understanding of the compliance policies related to Specimen Processing
Meets standards for production and accuracy within 6 months – 100% productivity rate
Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred
Prior work experience doing primarily data entry; production environment preferred
