Stavros is an organization focused on providing services for individuals with disabilities. The Skills Trainer will assess, orient, and provide skills training to MassHealth members, helping them manage their personal assistant services and live independently.

Responsibilities

Assessment, Orientation and Skills Training

To educate and assist individuals with disabilities to acquire and maintain personal assistant services

To monitor the progress in acquiring and maintaining personal care assistant services

To remain informed about State and Federal regulatory changes in policy and procedures as they are related to the Personal Assistant Services through readings and meetings assigned by the Director of Skills Trainers and Skills Trainer Coordinator

To review the performance of PCA consumer and/or surrogates to ensure that they are administering the Program in compliance with the MassHealth PCA program regulations and ensuring that the participant has maximum control over their programs

To identify additional needs of Consumer that help maximizes their independents; including but not limited to transportation, housing, communication needs, social/recreational, advocacy, assistance equipment, and MassHealth (Medicaid) eligibility and to report these to the Skills Trainer Coordinator

To be knowledgeable about the services provided by Stavros; to represent Stavros in a professional manner; to be aware of the independent living philosophy and encourage and foster others; to take/keep control of their lives
