Program Coordinator II
Utah State University is Utah’s premier land-grant, public service university, and they are seeking a Program Coordinator II for the Aggies Elevated Program. This role involves coordinating the program's activities, supervising staff, and providing individualized support to students with developmental disabilities.
Education
Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Aggies Elevated Price Program Director (Program Coordinator III), coordinates, implements, and evaluates overall programmatic goals to facilitate integration of AE students into USU courses, activities, and the campus community
Monitors and maintains key on-campus partnerships and community partnerships
Coordinates logistics for participant application/admissions, orientation, summer prep, and base camp experiences
Train, direct, and supervise hourly/student employees, graduate students, and/or volunteers
Engages in program outreach and recruitment in public forums, including school districts, local LEAs, transition fairs, relevant community agencies/events, and campus organizations
Provide and coordinate individualized student supports
Teach 1-2 courses each semester for the Aggies Elevated program
Overseeing student internships, development of new internship placement sites, and supervising students in the field
Maintain detailed, timely, and confidential documentation of student interactions and student progress
May write and/or assist with writing grants and proposals as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program; may participate in other fundraising activities
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Provide and coordinate individualized student supports (behavioral, problem-solving, independent living, social skill development, etc.)
Build and maintain key on-campus partnerships (i.e. Housing, Admissions, Orientation/Connections, DRC, course instructors, CAPS, etc.) and community partnerships (Independent Living Centers, VR, school districts, etc.) and collaborate with these resources to provide support to Aggies Elevated students
Recruit, train, organize, and supervise volunteers to support Aggies Elevated students
Provide support and guidance to peer mentors (student employees), graduate students, and interns
Maintain detailed, timely, and confidential documentation of student interactions and student progress
Teach and lead seminars, classes, and/or workshops. (Teach 1-2 courses during both Spring and Fall semesters. Teach or co-teach 1 summer course on a rotating schedule)
Courses will be taught using Connect broadcast method (Multiple USU sites connecting various AE locations)
Update curriculum and Canvas courses regularly
In collaboration with the Aggies Elevated Price Program Director (Program Coordinator III), coordinates and/or supports application, admissions, orientation, summer prep, base camp, campus visit, and person-centered planning processes
Engages in program outreach and recruitment in public forums, including school districts, local LEAs, transition fairs, relevant community agencies/events, and campus organizations
May write and/or assist with writing grants and proposals as appropriate to the objectives and funding nature of the program; may participate in other fundraising activities
Attend TPSID grant required professional development meetings each July and October
Attend TPSID grant and collaborative meetings as required
Assist with TPSID grant required data entry
Help with collecting and evaluating program data
Create and update program documents and materials
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a field related to developmental disabilities, and/or education plus two years of relevant work experience; or a master's degree in a field related to developmental disabilities, and/or education; or an equivalent combination of education plus experience is required
Ability to effectively communicate and teach individuals with intellectual disabilities in a postsecondary education setting
Ability to teach via broadcast, online, and in-person
Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events
Skilled in professional communication both written and oral
Skilled in the use of personal computers and related software applications
Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Ability to work effectively with various populations
Ability to lead and train staff and/or students
Ability to interact with students, faculty and/or staff in a team environment
Ability to exercise a high level of creativity, decision making, problem solving, and discretion as work is varied and may be undefined
Preferred
Master's degree in a field related to education, disability (i.e. Rehabilitation Counseling), career counseling
Previous experience with providing services or education to individuals with developmental disabilities
