PSI (Proteam Solutions) is seeking an Auxiliary Support Aide to assist PreK-12 blind/deaf children and teachers in executing educational programs. The role involves supervising students, providing emotional and physical support, and assisting with various tasks in a school environment.

Responsibilities

Assisting PreK-12 blind/deaf children and teachers in executing programs focused on academics, vocational, independent living, transitional and social growth

Redirecting students when difficulties arise

Supervising students in dorms, classroom, cafeteria, hallways, playground, restrooms, etc

Assisting students on/off transportation vehicles

Escorting students to different areas of the school

Assisting in emergency situations

Assisting students with emotional, physical and personal needs

Assisting in other day to day general tasks as needed

Required

Available to work on an ON-Call, Emergency, Temporary, and/or Substitute ONLY basis

Valid Driver's License

Vehicle or Reliable Transportation

ASL - American Sign Language (OSD Only)

Ability to clear federal background check and drug screen

1-3 years as a Home Healthcare Aide or Classroom/Dorm Student Aide experience

Ability to lift 30-100 pounds

Ability to ergonomically perform navigational task with student (push, pull, lift)

Preferred

Degree in Early Childhood Education or Special Education

Experience working with autistic or MD children

Experience working with deaf/blind K-12 students

CPI Certification

CPR Certification

ASL American Sign Language skills - or the desire to learn ASL
