Product Owner / Principal Analyst – Digital Banking
The Norman Group is seeking a hands-on Product Owner / Principal Analyst to support a major Q2 digital banking conversion. This role involves requirements gathering, backlog readiness, and delivering artifacts while collaborating across various teams to ensure clarity and accountability.

Responsibilities
Lead stakeholder sessions to elicit, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements for the Q2 conversion
Translate business needs into detailed system requirements and clear narratives that engineering/QA/vendors can execute against
Refine and maintain user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring teams have unambiguous 'done' definitions
Identify gaps, constraints, dependencies, and risks early; drive decisions and alignment
Develop and maintain required program documentation and artifacts, such as:
Requirements documentation / feature narratives
Process flows (current state / future state) and journey mapping
Traceability matrices, test evidence expectations, and UAT materials
Release readiness inputs, cutover checklists, decision logs
Provide structured reporting on status, impacts, risks, and next steps to stakeholders and leadership
Drive governance around KRIs/KPIs/operational metrics where applicable
Act as a digital banking SME across core workflows, supporting solution design, configuration decisions, and process improvements
Partner with internal IT teams, external vendors/implementation partners, and platform teams to coordinate dependencies and delivery
Support application configuration changes while adhering to SDLC and Change Management protocols
Support conversion readiness through data analysis, data mapping, and data integrity validation (accounts, customer attributes, entitlements, transaction history, etc.)
Define test data needs and coordinate with enterprise data teams to obtain/validate necessary data sets
Partner with QA/UAT leads to ensure requirements are testable and aligned to sprint delivery
Assist UAT participants, validate outcomes against business intent, and support Go/No-Go readiness
Support defect triage by clarifying expected behavior; contribute to root cause analysis and risk mitigation
Qualification
Required
8+ years in Product Owner, Principal Analyst, Senior Business Systems Analyst, or Senior QA/BA hybrid roles within digital banking
Demonstrated strength in hands-on requirements gathering and producing high-quality delivery artifacts
Strong experience translating complex needs into system requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Advanced skills with MS Office and diagramming tools (Visio/Lucidchart or similar) to create clear documentation
Experience working in Agile delivery environments; comfortable with backlog refinement and sprint execution support
Strong communication skills (executive-ready written and verbal)
Preferred
Q2 platform experience (conversion/migration, configuration, or enhancement delivery)
Experience partnering with external vendors/implementation partners on digital platform migrations
Strong knowledge of data integrity, security, and privacy best practices in banking
Familiarity with WCAG/accessibility requirements for digital channels
Experience with collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) and Confluence (or similar)
