Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support IT/OT network connectivity across industrial sites and corporate environments
Securely integrate OT networks (SCADA, DCS, PLC) with enterprise IT using segmentation, firewalls, and DMZs
Support and optimize WAN / SD-WAN connectivity for remote plants and field locations
Configure and manage next-generation firewalls and secure remote access
Troubleshoot network performance, latency, and availability issues in hybrid IT/OT environments
Support hybrid cloud connectivity (VPN-based)
Create and maintain network diagrams, standards, and operational documentation
Collaborate with OT, security, and infrastructure teams during transition to full-time hire
Qualification
Required
7+ years of network engineering experience in industrial, critical infrastructure, or regulated environments
Strong routing and switching knowledge: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, EVPN/VXLAN
Hands-on experience with non-Cisco networking platforms, such as: Juniper, Arista, Extreme Networks
Strong experience with next-generation firewalls: Palo Alto Networks (preferred), Fortinet or Check Point
Proven experience supporting industrial/OT networks, including: SCADA, DCS, PLC environments
Industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP)
Experience implementing IT/OT segmentation, firewalls, and industrial DMZs
Understanding of industrial security standards (IEC 62443 or equivalent)
Experience supporting hybrid cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Working knowledge of network automation tools: Python, Ansible, Terraform (basic to intermediate)
Preferred
Experience supporting energy, oil & gas, utilities, or manufacturing environments
Familiarity with SD-WAN or SASE platforms (Fortinet, Palo Alto Prisma, Versa)
Experience supporting remote or low-bandwidth sites
Relevant certifications (PCNSE, NSE, JNCIP, cloud networking)
