Responsibilities
Develop and execute financial strategies that support growth, scalability, and long-term profitability
Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-range planning, and sales compensation and commission structure design
Own unit economics, pricing and packaging analysis, margin improvement initiatives, and financial modeling across products and distribution channels
Provide clear, actionable financial insights to guide executive and board-level decision-making
Ensure timely, accurate financial statements, dashboards, and performance reporting
Oversee accounting operations, internal controls, and adherence to GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Coordinate external audits and support compliance readiness as the organization scales
Own the financial systems and enterprise management software strategy to ensure data integrity, automation, and scalability
Lead and coordinate investor due diligence processes, ensuring high-quality, timely, and well-structured materials
Support fundraising activities, strategic partnerships, and ongoing investor communications
Prepare and present financial materials, performance narratives, and scenario analyses for the Board of Directors
Oversee cash management, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization
Manage banking relationships and financial partners
Develop and execute capital strategy, including capital raise planning, scenario modeling, and long-term funding plans
Oversee equity administration and cap table management, ensuring governance and compliance within Carta
Identify, assess, and manage financial, operational, and organizational risks
Implement mitigation strategies to protect company assets and support long-term financial sustainability
Serve as a trusted financial partner to leaders across GTM, Product, Operations, and Lab functions
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team
Actively contribute as a member of the senior leadership team, driving cross-functional initiatives and operational excellence
Qualification
Required
Proven strategic finance leader with strong analytical, organizational, and leadership capabilities
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
Demonstrated experience in fundraising, capital structuring, investor relations, and board-level reporting
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; MBA, CPA, or CFA preferred
7+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance role within a high-growth, entrepreneurial, or complex operating environment

Experience building scalable financial systems, processes, and controls in a growing organization strongly preferred
