APQP Process Engineer/Owner
Anchor Point Technology Resources is seeking an APQP Process Owner to lead and improve the Advanced Product Quality Planning process across the organization. The role involves governing quality planning tools, driving risk prevention, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Own and govern the APQP framework, ensuring consistent deployment across programs and product lines
Lead APQP activities from concept through launch, ensuring timely completion of deliverables
Ensure alignment with customer-specific requirements, industry standards, and internal quality systems
Facilitate APQP phase reviews and gate approvals
Lead and support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA, PFMEA) activities
Drive identification, mitigation, and tracking of quality risks throughout the product lifecycle
Ensure effective use of control plans, process flow diagrams, and risk-based methodologies
Define, track, and analyze APQP and quality metrics to assess process effectiveness
Drive corrective and preventive actions based on data trends and audit findings
Continuously improve APQP tools, templates, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Act as the primary APQP subject matter expert supporting engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams
Provide coaching and guidance on APQP tools and best practices
Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are met
Ensure APQP activities comply with internal quality systems and external standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AS9100, as applicable)
Support internal and external audits related to APQP and quality planning
Maintain documentation, standards, and work instructions related to APQP
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field
Strong experience with APQP methodologies and quality planning tools
Demonstrated experience with FMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, and corrective action processes
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred
Experience in regulated or manufacturing environments (automotive, aerospace, industrial, medical, etc.)
Knowledge of quality standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or AS9100
Certification in Quality Engineering, Six Sigma, or related disciplines
Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives
