The University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a temporary Legal Intake Assistant to support the Intake Coordinators at the Colorado Law School. This role involves managing incoming communications, conducting preliminary reviews of new applications, and assisting with the creation and organization of case files for the Korey Wise Innocence Project.

Responsibilities

Review and respond to phone messages, emails, and letters in a timely and professional manner, working closely with staff to ensure accurate and appropriate responses

Assist Intake Paralegal with review of new applications to determine basic eligibility and completeness, begin the file-building process for new applications, assist with assigning applications to paralegals at partner law firms for full file development, and provide additional administrative support related to the intake process as needed

Required

A bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Demonstrated experience working with legal documents and solid organizational skills

Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting timelines and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including editing proficiency

Able to work independently, anticipate staff needs, and contribute to an inclusive environment that reflects the diversity of KWIP's students, faculty, staff, and community

A positive demeanor, adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving skills
