Area Vice President / Business Head – Retail Sector
Responsibilities
Full ownership of the sector P&L, focused on achieving ambitious double-digit growth targets on the current approx $25 M book of business
Develop and execute a 'Land and Expand' strategy, prioritizing new logo acquisition and deep penetration within large Retail organizations (Grocery, Specialty, Department Stores)
Negotiate and close multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts for digital transformation, supply chain optimization, and store technologies
Define the service offerings specific to the evolving retail landscape, focusing on areas like Unified Commerce Platforms, AI/ML-driven personalization, fulfillment technologies, and retail IoT/Edge computing
Develop strategic partnerships with key retail technology vendors (e.g., Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP, Microsoft Retail solutions)
Provide market insights to the delivery organization to ensure the capability roadmap is aligned with future client demand
Lead by example in the sales cycle, mentoring junior team members on effective executive-level client engagement
Qualification
Required
12+ years of experience in IT Services sales, business development, and P&L management, with at least 5 years focused on the Retail, CPG, or eCommerce vertical
Proven history of managing and growing an account portfolio / P&L of approx $20 M or larger, while demonstrating a strong individual closing history
Exceptional understanding of the retail value chain, from merchandising and supply chain to customer experience and loyalty programs
Experience positioning sophisticated digital engineering and technology services rather than purely staff augmentation
Proven success at firms such as UST, GSPANN, Valtech, Brillio, Grid Dynamics, Infosys, or TCS (specifically from the hunting/new business teams)
