The VP of Consumer Lending will build and lead a newly established consumer lending organization, owning end-to-end loan origination, product strategy, underwriting oversight, and member onboarding experiences.

Responsibilities

Developing and executing consumer lending origination strategies, partnerships, and channels to support sustainable growth and member accessibility

Establishing and refining lending policies, product roadmaps, underwriting standards, and workflows across all consumer loan products

Building, leading, and mentoring a high-performing consumer lending product and underwriting team

Overseeing portfolio performance, margin yields, credit quality, loss trends, and product profitability while ensuring alignment with risk appetite

Partnering with executive leadership across Finance, Risk, Marketing, and Member Experience to align lending strategies with institutional goals and cooperative values

Required

10+ years of progressive experience in consumer lending, including 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity within a credit union or member-focused financial institution

Deep expertise with consumer Loan Origination Systems (LOS), credit analysis, underwriting frameworks, loan performance management, and origination conversions

Proven ability to balance growth initiatives with disciplined risk management and member-centric product design

Bachelor's degree required

Ability to work on-site in Hauppauge, NY
