Technical Writer

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating clear and precise documentation to support manufacturing engineering processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency and standardization.

Responsibilities

Author comprehensive work instructions used by production manufacturing and test operations in a high-complexity manufacturing environment
Collaborate with engineers and technicians to refine build sequences, process flow, and tool documentation for improved efficiency
Lead the creation and release of documentation for new product lines in partnership with design and manufacturing engineering
Develop Job Hazard Assessments, safety procedures, and department-wide specifications to meet compliance standards
Build standardized documentation templates and work instruction formats for capacitor manufacturing
Establish standardization rules, best practices, and style guidelines for technical documentation
Manage documentation systems, including PDMs, SDS databases, folder structures, and accessibility within MES systems
Mentor and provide guidance to junior writers and engineers contributing to documentation
Improve documentation practices and support strategic plans within Manufacturing Engineering
Manage a system for continuous improvement for documentation, managing multiple projects at once

Required

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years of experience authoring technical content within a manufacturing environment
Experience translating complex technical information into concise, and applicable documentation for production teams
Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to technical accuracy and clarity
Proficiency in documentation tools and systems such as Microsoft Office, Confluence, SharePoint, or equivalent platforms
Familiarity with electrical/mechanical component production processes
Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) documentation within an engineering or production setting
Experience with tool development, lifecycle activities, tools and processes
