Work Study Student - Research & Economic Development - Graphic Design Assistant (Spring 2026)

Responsibilities
Designs original graphics for social media (primarily LinkedIn)
Creates visuals for email newsletters
Designs materials for event promotions, research highlights, and announcements
Develops and adapts branded visual series and templates
Applies design principles from upper-level coursework, including typography, layout, hierarchy, color theory, and visual storytelling
Maintains consistency with Georgia Southern brand standards
Participates in an iterative feedback and revision process that mirrors a professional client-designer workflow
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University
Must be Federal Work eligible
Preferred
Major in Graphic Design
Be enrolled in 3000 or 4000 level graphic design courses
Enrollment in or completion of ART 4336 - Graphic Design: Data & Information Visualization
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud tools, particularly Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Openness to critique and ability to revise work based on feedback
Familiarity with designing for digital communications and social media
Interest in research communication, storytelling, or higher education branding
Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful design decisions and technical skill (course projects accepted)
