Responsibilities
Review and refactor Python and Kotlin code to remove redundant or unused log events
Reduce log volume and operational costs by improving logging patterns and standards
Analyze log data to identify high-volume and high-cost sources
Translate data insights into concrete architectural and engineering improvements
Support engineering teams with observability tooling, configuration, and best practices
Document findings, decisions, and long-term recommendations
Own the initiative end to end, from discovery through implementation
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience in backend engineering, infrastructure engineering, SRE, or similar roles
Strong software engineering skills with experience reviewing and improving production code
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Kotlin, Java)
Experience working with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure
Ability to work independently and drive solutions in ambiguous problem spaces
Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets using scripting or querying tools
Clear written and verbal communication skills for collaborating and documenting work
Preferred
Experience with large-scale distributed systems and observability platforms
Hands-on experience with tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, ELK Stack, Fluent, Flink, Chronosphere, or Splunk
Prior experience optimizing logging, metrics, or tracing at scale
Familiarity with cost optimization in cloud-based observability systems
