Responsibilities
Design and implement user interfaces using frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js
Translate UI/UX designs into functional, responsive, and interactive web pages
Optimize web applications for speed, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility
Collaborate with designers to ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
Maintain code quality through best practices, code reviews, and testing
Develop server-side logic using languages such as Python, Java, or .NET
Build and maintain RESTful or GraphQL APIs to support front-end functionality
Integrate with SQL and NoSQL databases for data storage, retrieval, and management
Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for secure access
Monitor and optimize performance of server-side processes
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack
Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software reliability
Document technical specifications and maintain up-to-date documentation
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and Product Management
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer science or a related field
4+ years' experience in software development, DevOps, or platform engineering roles
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js
Experience with build tools and preprocessors such as Webpack, Sass, or Less
Experience with Node.js, Express, Python (Django/Flask), Java (Spring), .NET, or Ruby on Rails
Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
Proficient with Git and platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket
Experience with testing tools such as Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, Selenium, or Cypress
Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms like AWS
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
Strong organizational skills
Preferred
Active VA Public Trust
Prior experience supporting federal agencies, especially the Department of Veterans Affairs
Certifications in full stack development, cloud technologies, or secure software development
Prior, successful experience working in a remote environment
