Senior Project Developer - RNG
Ellaway Blues Consulting is a global renewable energy and waste-to-resource platform, and they are seeking a Senior Project Developer to focus on originating, structuring, and advancing anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas projects. The role involves working with executive leadership and various stakeholders throughout the project development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Originate and advance anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas projects across North America
Own the full development lifecycle from concept through contract execution and financial close
Structure and negotiate feedstock agreements, offtake contracts, leases, and commercial terms
Lead permitting and approval processes, including engagement with municipal boards, utilities, and regulatory agencies
Act as the primary interface with client leadership and external stakeholders
Prepare and negotiate proposals, development agreements, and commercial structures with internal legal and finance support
Collaborate closely with engineering, applications, project execution, and finance teams to ensure projects are technically and commercially executable
Maintain continuity from development through handover to delivery
Track market, regulatory, and policy trends across renewable natural gas, anaerobic digestion, wastewater, and organic waste infrastructure
Represent the business at selected industry events and stakeholder forums
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
7 or more years of experience in project development, business development, applications engineering, or sales engineering within renewable energy, anaerobic digestion, renewable natural gas, wastewater, or related infrastructure sectors
Proven experience advancing capital-intensive projects through municipal or regulated approval processes
Demonstrated success structuring and closing complex, multi-stakeholder infrastructure projects
Strong technical understanding of anaerobic digestion, biogas upgrading, wastewater treatment, sludge processing, or organic waste systems
Strong commercial judgment and negotiation capability
Ability to engage confidently with executives, boards, utilities, consultants, and engineering teams
Excellent written communication and proposal development skills
Comfortable operating in a matrixed, international organization
Willingness to travel up to 50 percent
Preferred
Engineering or other STEM discipline strongly preferred
Master's degree or MBA preferred
